Apr. 11, 2009 - Leda, TN
After leaving Atlanta with pretty decent looking weather, we neared Chattanooga and the weather was looking a little skeptical. Forecast for the day in Chattanooga was for a high in the mid sixties with early clouds giving way to partly sunny skies. Well, it was definitely cloudy and it looked like the rain from the previous night hadn't dried much. But we decided we would brave the long hike in and take a closer look. We found a few wet climbs intermingled with a few dry climbs which was all we needed to see. Sweet, let's climb. And we did with another large crew. Most of the crew arrived and drove up together while a few ACC newcomers arrived later in the morning. As climbs were led, lunch eaten and Gatorade consumed, the sun made an afternoon appearance but didn't stay for too long. By then most of the routes were dry and able to be climbed... except the route Frank swam up. I think it was still running water late in the day. By late afternoon when it seemed like everyone got their fill of climbing we packed up and made our way to Tres Amigos for dinner and a very good one at that. Nice suggestion Derek. After burritos, tacos, cervezas and fried ice cream we all departed and drove back to Atlanta. It was a good day.
