Club trips are planned monthly. Membership is very cheap, and involves signing a liability waiver.
This Saturday will be the ACC trip to Sunset Park, Tennessee. Perched on the northwest brow of Lookout Mountain overlooking Chattanooga, Sunset Park is home to some fine sandstone and traditional climbing.
Coincidentally, this Saturday is also National Trails Day. The SCC will be hosting a trail day at Sunset Park. We intend to help out with the trail day in the morning, and then cut loose in the afternoon and climb, climb, climb!
We will be leaving the Marietta Park and Ride promptly at 7:00am on Saturday to arrive in time for the start of the trail day. Those wishing to get a late start and skip the trail work should plan on parking at Cravens House and hiking in to climb at the north end of the cliff. The trail work will be concentrated mainly on the south side.
For those participating in the trail day, be sure to bring work gloves and shoes appropriate for trail work. Lunch will be provided, and there will also be some cool prize giveaways.
