Sandrock Trip Report

January 6, 2007
Report by: Jeff Mekolites

Despite overcast skies and a chance of rain in the forecast, a large number of ACC members made their way west and had a great day of climbing at Sandrock on January 6th, 2007. The large contingent of climbers included Greg, Bryan, Jennifer, Johanna, Frank, Sean, John, Nicole, Huong, Gary, Bill, Tom, Derek, Scott, Chris and myself. We managed to climb a large number of routes on the Holiday Block and The Pinnacle including…
  • Comfortably Numb 5.9
  • Tuesday’s Gone 5.10d
  • The Valdez 5.10c/d
  • They Call Me Cruiser 5.10b
  • Oyster 5.10
  • Gravy Train 5.10a
  • Kennel Club 5.8
  • Pump Handles 5.9
  • Shut Out 5.11a
  • Standard Route 5.6 and Variation 5.9
  • Loosy Goosy 5.9
  • Chimney Approach 5.5…

A lot of folks cranked out some great leads. Afterwards, a number of us made our way into town to get some fine Mexican grub for dinner before heading back to Atlanta (and Birmingham).
